Biography

Sanna Roling set out to be a veterinarian in 1963 with an A.B.S. in Life Sciences from Thornton Junior College. Flunking out of Veterinary Medical School, she graduated from Michigan Technological University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and went on to complete a thesis M.S. at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Organic Chemistry.

Marriage brought children and volunteerism to the forefront. After founding three separate charities, at the tender age of 58 Sanna become a teacher. Upon retirement at 71 her passion for horses and helping youth and adults with disabilities attain full status in society became her full-time volunteer “job.” On July 24 2017 Houston Acts of Kindness Day and the Lemon Tree Foundation presented Sanna with the Houston Humanitarian of the Year Award. The next week she flew to Houghton Michigan to receive the 2017 Humanitarian Award from Michigan Technological University Alumni Board of Directors. Both awards are for her work with Dream Catcher Stables Inc.

Today her challenge is to raise a million dollars to complete Dream Catcher Stables Inc mission. In December 2017 she also became a published author of a book on the Vietnam War.
